Need Help: Ender 3 V2 VREF

I recently posted this on the creality forums but have not gotten a response yet.

I recently upgraded my Ender 3 V2 extruder to the Bondtech DDX and noticed that the pancake stepper was running hot after an hour of printing, about 53 deg cel. I contacted bondtech and they said that the stock vref is approximately .7 and suggested lowering the vref on the extruder driver to approx .5 and they send me instructions on how to do that.

So I take my multimeter set on DC voltage auto ranging, and it's giving me 1.35 on the extruder and 1.41 on x,y, and z.

I was under the impression that all 4 on the ender 3 were set to around .7. This printer has been running this way for 3 months non stop with no issues so I figured it was all good. So I lowered the extruder voltage to 1.11 just to be safe.

But what gives? all the documentation, everywhere on the web, i'm seeing ender 3 running at .7 on all drivers but mine are running above 1 from the factory?
