Does your school have a 3d printer?

So does your local school have a 3d printer and if so what are you teaching?

I know my high school did not have a printed when I attended but then again it was not as main stream as now and my school was so small that the funds just couldn't be found. I hate to say it but the states are falling behind in implementing technology into its curriculum. I am currently working with some on doing so but it will take more doing this to get a full backing here.

The local university has a couple printers include a few in the library which are available for students to use for class or personal projects. As far as I know there isn't a formal class around the printers but I know a lot of courses are using them for projects, prototyping, etc.

I find this very interesting. What has your school done with it as since they got it. I have found most schools will purchase one just because its a buzz word but have no clue on how to adopt this into the curriculum.

It is sad how the education system is not on the leading edge of educating.
I bet they still teach drafting in many schools.

It seems to me that the states is the slowest to adopt technology into education. UK being very good at it.
