Making a backup image of the harddrive

    Hello all,

Just picked up two Stratasys dimension printers. A BST768 and SST1200es.
Was hoping to make backups of the harddrives but I can't seem to find any information on how big of a hard drive I can use on the machine.
Will a 1TB IDE work for these printers? or do I need the same size that's in the printer.
I'm assuming i can just use the DD command to make a clone.

    Regards
    -Oliver

I think, you can make exact partitions clone and leave extra space unallocated. Use Acronis.

    Hello Oliver,

You can use another hdd size. My HP printer has a smaller SSD size (120Gb) than the original HDD (250Gb) and it's working fine. There is a huge amount of free space at the end of the original HDD. I don't remember if its posible to use a 60gb HDD.

now I've got questions about your BST 768. I'm interested in upgrade my third hand repaired P3xxx SN Dimension BST to V10 firmware, but i'm trying to update through Catalyst and Insight with no results. I have a V4.2 firmware, a Gen1 electronics, a gen2 SBC and an IDE HDD drive and as far as I know I can't use a V10 upg file because my firmware is too old.

Can you tell me the firmware versión you have in your BST768?.

Can you send me your HDD image to see the differences between your printer and my printer?

    Regards.
    -Carlos.

    Sorry Carlos,
I've been away from the game a while. My BST768 is all taken apart in pieces. I have the hard drive and can get you the image when I get back home from my work trip.
    Regards

Sonic - I'd love a copy of that too, if you UL it somewhere. Thanks!

    Hi All,
Did that image ever get uploaded, and could someone share the link? Coming back from a HD failure is proving to be REALLY difficult. Thanks
