    Heater block / thermistor mismatch?

    Hi everyone.

    I purchased some heater cables and thermistors labled as "Innovateking-EU 5pcs Aluminum Heater Block for MK7 / MK8 3D Printer and 5pcs NTC 3950 100K Thermistor with 1 Meter Wiring and 5pcs 12V 40W 620 Ceramic Cartridge Heater for 3D Printer "

These are for my Creality CR10s Pro.

I switched the old cables for the new ones and noticed the new ceramic heater gets RED HOT very quickly. The thermistor is showing 40 degrees C when just switched on, so there's a problem there. I'm worried something has been damaged here because of a mismatch. Is it safe to use these ceramic heater cartridges? Are the thermistors not suitable? How would one know? I've ordered some new thermistors that had CR10s pro in the title but I don't want to use the ceramic heater if I shouldn't be. It looked like the thermistor wasn't regulating the temperature so it just heated to infinity but it might not be suitable in the first place?
