First print - Too many supports - lots all stuck together

    Hi People!
I'm a complete novice and just did my first print: the hull of a 1/35 scale Tiger Tank!

Now the print looks pretty good except that the supports created automatically by ChituBox (15% density) were very excessive and in one whole area the supports are all fused together becoming one solid lump!

Note that the model does not appear to have excessive supportsó-but when I printed it with AnyCubic Photon Mono X, the supports appear to multiply and become fused together.

I have attached images of the model.

Any ideas what is causing this problem? Any help is most appreciated.
