    Hybrid servo motors

I would like to build a 3d printer with some hybrid servo motors as an experiment. Actual servos are a bit pricey for this application, but I have no experience with hybrid servos and was wondering if anyone here has tried this. Specifically, could anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced (preferably under $100 for servo and driver) unit that works well? Hopefully the driver would be configurable to accept steps/direction to be controlled from a duet board. The goals here are to improve repeatability, increase speed and reduce noise. I know leadshine steppers are occasionally used for this, but they're rather expensive.
