Bed Adhesion Best Practice
Hey everyone,
I have been experiencing issues with specific types of prints for a while now and want to get to the bottom of it.
The information below applies to both my testing with PLA and PETG.
Ultimately I thing my issues is bed adhesion...
When I print this model it appears to be almost random how good/bad it turns out.
The plastic fails to stick to the bed at the beginning and ends up causing the finished print to be beveled (I am not sure where all the plastic ends up going)

Left: Bad print
Right: Good print (same gcode file)

I tried the following:
- Leveling my print bed to have a larger and smaller extruder gap than the standard paper height.
- Using clean glass, dirty glass, blue tape...
- 10mm/s first layer, 30mm/s everything else
- Higher temps on both bed and head
Please let me know if you know what this problem is, or have suggestions on what I can try next.
Thanks!

I've had a few prints do that, too. Especially when the wall thickness is greater than 3 or 4 lines and the infill greater than 20%. I think it might be related to humidity since PLA will shrink when it's had a chance to absorb moisture from the air.
