I just got myself a Bulldog (http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bulldog-extruder-project) with a merlin Hot End and a Reprap Prus A4988 Pololu + Heatsink Stepper Motor Driver Ramps For 3D Printer.

How do i hook up these to my pc? Smoothieboard?

(Seems like i could not post in other group yet...)

in short: DRV8825 is probably better than the A4988 - except if you will use it as a drop in replacement in a RAMPS or other similar controller. The gain is very small and it is a tedious task to configure...
I went with the DRV8825 because i will not use it with Arduino style board. A PC can keep ut with 1/32 microstepping and i will try to get the most out of it. I will hook it up with Ethernet SmoothStepper + BOB + Mach3 PC Software.
