Anyone know optimal lighting for scanning with Kinect or similar devices?
I deal with LED lighting and see the need for lighting products.

No idea I have been looking at getting a kinect, how good of a scan does it do? Any problems?

I pulled my Kinect off my Xbox and started playing with it. I cant seem to get the results seen on other sites or postings. Recently I heard that I really need to pay for the full version because the free version basically is limited on the detail it allows you to have so your images don't look that great, which makes sense why my scans are not great but $129 is a bit much of a leap at this point I want a little more reassurance and to see some results before I commit. I have been using an LED video light mounted to the kinect sensor.

I have some new ceiling lighting fixtures from http://www.interior-deluxe.com with LED and it works perfectly with kinect, I don't feel the need for an extra videolight, when the LED from the ceiling is adjusted so that it lights me directly from the direction the camera is standing
