    3D printing in space

    Hi everyone
I never found a section like this one in a forum and I really love that someone thought to create it because it is a topic that interests me a lot!
ESA (European Space Agency) and NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) are both working on a 3D printer program for space
NASA is testing this technology for "printing" food for astronauts 3D Printing: Food in Space | NASA or to create an exhaust port cover for the engine of a rocket with SLM (Selective Laser Melting) The Future of Exploration Starts With 3-D Printing | NASA and also a rocket engine injector with the same technology NASA, Industry Test "3D Printed" Rocket Engine Injector | NASA
ESA is making researches to put a metal 3d printer on the ISS (International Space Station) allowing astronauts to produce tools and new structures on demand 3D printing for space: the additive revolution / Research / Human Spaceflight / Our Activities / ESA and is also making a long term reasearch to build a lunar base with this technology Building a lunar base with 3D printing / Technology / Our Activities / ESA

At the end, you can find the file to print the first tool in space to be 3D printed!

Space Station's Commercial 3D Printer Makes Its 1st Tool , The Additive Manufacturing Facility, which was installed aboard the International Space Station in late April, printed out its first tool last week — a wrench that astronauts can use to perform light maintenance work.

On Friday (10-2-17), a 3D printer aboard the International Space Station created a sculpture that represents human laughter — the first significant piece of art ever to be produced off Earth, project representatives said.
